Hey Jeff, love the show. What I haven't heard on the podcast or in other spheres of MH370 discussion is: what about the passengers? If an agent made a dash for the electronics bay, I would think in a post 9/11 age passengers would react and take actions to subdue that person. Secondly, where are they now? Was the plane able to be depressurized so fast that they could all be killed before they could fight back, send messages, disrupt the flight, etc? Did they land alive with the plane and killed later? Are they all being held hostage? I would think all of these scenarios would leave behind some breadcrumb evidence either physically or digitally. I've been very much persuaded to your theory of Russians stealing the plane, but am curious how the removal of the passengers fits in.
Hey Trevor, Thanks! So happy to hear you're enjoying the show. I think you raise an excellent point about the expectation that passengers would stop someone accessing the E/E bay. What we're trying to do is lay out a maximalist vision of all the possible things that could have happened to the plane; so we're going to let our imaginations run wild and suppose that the attackers have maximal skills and resources, everything goes just right, etc. Then, having laid out the possibilities, we can put the possibilities side by side and see where the difficulties might lie. So, yes, if a plan depends on getting into the E/E, avoiding getting caught doing that would be an important feature of the plan.
As for the passengers, we don't really have any clues about their fate, except perhaps that no one answered either of the incoming phone calls, which suggests that they were incapacitated. Various people have suggested that whoever took the plane might have depressurized the cabin to accomplish that; there's no direct evidence for it but it seems to be the best idea anyone can come up with.
Interesting thoughts, that makes a ton of sense. My wife and I have been following this mystery pretty closely since it happened and we've never agreed on plausible scenario of how 200+ passengers and crew basically just vanished.
Hi Jeff, really enjoying the continuing, rational dialogue exploring the evidence & possible ending scenarios. May I offer two ideas? 1. One must always be aware of WHO... has custody of the evidence. In criminal matters, crucial to evidence being accepted into the court record, is what is known as "THE CHAIN OF CUSTODY". IF>...a DEEP STATE is the custodian of these detection devices, and IF..a DEEP STATE knew... but hid / deleted the evidence, I would NOT Expect a DS to be honest about it. 2. As a former officer in Intelligence, there has been and is sufficient technological advances, such that the US Deep State tracks & records positional information in Real Time of ALL... and I mean ALL aircraft traffic, civilian and military, worldwide. This also includes UFO / UAP vehicular movements. It is a scientific fact that no matter what the object is moving through the atmosphere, nor how it is propelled, its detection and tracking is assured BECAUSE.... it "disturbs" either the Magnetic or Gravitational Field, and or some place in the light spectrum, of which we humans only see about 6%. THEREFORE, such successful detections are only dependent upon the State of the Art of the detection device. Let us remember the time in the not too distant past, when there was no way to detect Infra Red objects and no night vision. Thus, expect DS's every where in the world to possess 'Speed of Light' detection of any perturbances in the magnetic or electromagnetic and / gravitational spectrums. Respecting & appreciating your singular & significant, rational contributions to solving the MH370 Enigma. FMR Intelligence Officer PS. Reading your book! Still a super great read!
Hey David, I think you're more sanguine than me about humanity's ability to track ships and aircraft over the open ocean! Anyway, thanks very much for the kind words, I'm really glad you're enjoying the book and podcast.
Hi Jeff, Excellent point. No sound detected means no plane in the water. What I’m curious about is a future episode where you’ll discuss landing the plane. Does any of the BTO/BFO data indicate an elevation at the end of the flight? How hard is it for non pilots to land a plane like this? If this is fly by wire is it also land by wire? You’re making a very solid case.
I don't know how much there is to say .... the 777 is capable of fully landing by itself, so I guess I could explain that. The BTO data doesn't say anything about altitude, and the BFO is presumed in the northern scenario to have been spoofed so we can't really take it to mean anything.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of tomorrow's episode...
