« If not for a delay in a connecting flight, the incendiary bomb would likely have burst into flames in the belly of a plane flying high above the European Union. Instead, it ignited on the ground in Germany’s Leipzig airport, setting fire to a DHL air freight container. Western intelligence officials believe the attack, which took place in July, was a trial run by Russian agents who planned to place similar bombs on flights to the United States. »
Thanks for this, Peter! I woke up this morning, saw the same story, and immediately had the same thought. I'm going to be keeping a close eye on this story over the next few hours.
@jeffwise : In the episode following Prigozhin's death (I don't know the exact number), you connected the dots between MH17, Prigozhin's plane and potentially MH370. So the Leipzig events confirm the pattern you (and the intelligence services mentioned in the articles above) already established.
I must say, I was a bit skeptical until now about this pattern. Although Prigozhin was of course assassinated by Putin, my impression was that MH17 rather was an accident (although you make very good arguments to the contrary in the podcast episode I mentioned). And as I said below: MH370 doesn't seem to fit the pattern, as all other plane attacks were very unsophisticated, whereas an abduction including BFO spoofing would be the exact opposite: a highly sophisticated operation. But I congratulate you on your foresight, because I think you were the only voice (I know of) seeing the Putin-plane-pattern.
Thank you, Peter. I would add that Russia's hybrid warfare campaign against the West is extremely wide-ranging and varied, and includes operations that are extremely brutal and dumb as well as others that are exquisitely refined. I'm planning to an episode about this soon.
This doesn't seem to be a big mystery, as everything had been foretold by the articles above. It was a tragedy in the making.
What stands out though if you take a closer look at my list:
MH17, Prigozhin and the 2 Leipzig attacks ... what is the common denominator ?
They all have been hack jobs (no pun intended), whereas taking MH370 to Kazakhstan would have been an unbelievably sophisticated operation. That doesn't quite match.
But at least the Leipzig attacks answer the question whether Putin has any qualms about downing aircraft to send a message.
@jeffwise : This is happening!
After
• MH17
• Prigozhin
• and *maybe* MH370
... Putin is targeting planes again:
• 19 July 2024 in Leipzig:

• It was a trial run for TODAY:
+++ cargo plane crashes near Vilnius airport +++
Yes, you guessed right: It was a DHL cargo plane taking off from Leipzig ...

@jeffwise : I am very much looking forward to listening to your upcoming episodes!
What exquisitely refined ops do you have in mind here ?
